By washing linen tablecloths, it is not advisable to dry them in the washing machine, but if you want to make them softer, you can soak them after the washing in water to which a fabric softener is added. One should take into account that by washing of any linen product – tablecloth, curtains, napkins, throws, etc., it will shrink for about 8-10cm. The overhang of a classical tablecloth is 20-25 cm, not to make any inconvenience for those who are sitting at the table. There are of course exceptions, when the tablecloth is up to the floor, or even “sits” a little bit on the floor. Tablecloths can have decorative edges, thread-lace insertions and embroideries. If the table has a non-standard form, we will take first a pattern and agree on the height of the overhang.
